Ruben the Road Safety Bear

This morning we had Ruben in for a visit. Everyone in Room 6 got an activity book and learnt lots of road rules from Ruben. Here are some photos and stories from his visit. He also has a website that has lots of cool activities on it http://ruben.co.nz/.

Autumn Art

In Room 6 last week we made some autumn art. We used our knowledge of autumn to help us decide on the colours that we would use in our picture.

First we started off by painting the branches and the trunk.

We then used ear buds to create the look of leaves. We had to make sure we had lots of leaves and that they weren't all grouped together. The final product looks great. Room 6 are super artists.

Leaf designs

Today we made leaf pictures. We each got to leaves and had to make a picture out of them. They turned out great!

Squash it Sandwich

On Friday our whole school made healthy sandwiches. During the morning we had to design our sandwich by drawing what was going in it and think of a clever name for it. After morning tea we split up into our bird groups and went into the different classes.

Once we were in the right class we had to make sure our hand were clean so we didn't spread germs. We then had to prepare all our ingredients.

Once that was done we got make our sandwich and then eat them. They were delicious!!!

Autumn

This week Ruma Ono is looking at Autumn. We began today by writing a senses poem about it. We all had to go outside and we spent some time looking, smelling and touching things that happen in Autumn.

In the afternoon we made some leaf art to go with our poems. We had to paint each leaf and then carefully press it on to our paper.

Check back each day to see some of the great things we do.
