Live Mathletics

Today some of the kids in Room 6 were lucky enough to learn how to use live mathletics. This a website that the children go on to practice their maths. Live mathletics allows them to practice their basic facts against other people in the world. I will be putting their mathletics usernames and passwords in their BEE books so you can go on at home with them.

Oobleck

Today we had a science lesson and made oobleck. This is an interesting substance that when pressure is put on it it goes hard and when gently touched turns into a liquid form.
Before we began we made our hypothesis (predictions) about what we thought would happen then at the end we came up with a conclusion.
All we used was cornflour and water to make oobleck. It was a really messy task but heaps of fun. Hopefully we will have some stories to go with our pictures.

Check out our video of Hoani and Kayley counting up to 10 in Maori and using the rakau sticks at the same time.

Apologies

Dear parents/caregivers,

I am sorry for the lack of posts on our class blog however I am having problems with the class camera and I can't seem to use the photos once they have been taken. Will hopefully get this sorted within the next week so you can enjoy looking at some of the things we have been doing.

Thanks,
Whaea Katie
